In this workshop Raquy will teach you how to play the darbuka (aka dumbek), the Middle Easter goblet drum. You will learn the basic techniques, some middle easter rhythms and solo phrases. You will also to accompany some traditional melodies played by Raquy on the Kamancha.

Into the Heart of Bhakti: A Community Immersion Through the Lens of The Gita with Special Guest Swami Revatikaanta + Kirtan lead Radharani + Supported by Akash Chander + Moderated & Meditation by Paola Cruz. Swami Revatikaanta will guide us through story, reflection, and dialogue, as we dive into key teachings from the Gita that speak to purpose, action, inner steadiness, and devotion.
Kirtan is a devotional singing practice from India and is practiced around the world. It involves chanting or singing mantras, sacred phrases, or bhajans in a call-and-response style. It is a beautiful way to learn how to open our hearts and connect to something much greater than ourselves. (Come at 6:30 for homemade kitchari and chai!)
Anahata Sessions is a transformative healing night brought to you by us - a collective of visionary healers from the Golden Drum community. In each session, we will offer a specially curated program of healing modalities and traditions, which will create a unique experience inspiring healing; inducing relaxation; supporting growth; and transforming perception. The healing modalities that will be offered during this Anahata Session are: Tarot, Astrology, Sound Healing, Lightwork, Reiki, and more.

As the last full moon of spring is rising in the sky, we gather in a sacred circle to honor the Festival of Goodwill—a time of generosity, connection, and collective prayer. We open our minds and hearts to new perspectives, to weave our voices together in shared wisdom, and to celebrate the power of community.
Join us in welcoming Nilda Callañaupa Alvarez, an indigenous Quechua weaver from the mountain village of Chinchero, Peru, to share about the rich textile traditions of the Andes by the master weavers of her culture. Nilda will share with us demonstrations of traditional backstrap loom weaving and the spinning of alpaca wool into yarns. There will be an assortment of hand made textiles available for sale to help support the weavers involved in her non-profit organization.
Dream Seed is a sound healing ensemble created by members of Golden Drum, Sacred Arts Research Foundation, and Didge Project. Shamanic chanting, mantras, overtone singing, Native American songs, indigenous music, didgeridoos, crystal singing bowls, bells, gongs, harmoniums, tuning forks and other overtone-emitting instruments are used to create an environment conducive to deep relaxation and inward investigation.
This program will give sound healing practitioners the tools needed to understand the depth and consciousness on how to properly and safely hold space, how to guide recipients into a place of equanimity, and sustain personal balance while working with many different people and energies in the role of a healer.

Join Dream Seed for a deep dive into sound healing work for practitioners at our weekend-long retreat in the Catskills, 2 hours from NYC. Dream Seed will conduct a series of sound baths and hands-on workshops in addition to a traditional sweat lodge. This is an opportunity to get extended time exploring the instruments and techniques within the sound healing modality. Meals and accommodations are included. Meybol and Rosa, two Indigenous Atacameño women from the north of Chile, come to share the vision of the Condor through ceremonial tobacco prayers. They intend to honor and give thanks for life, water, and food. This ceremony consists of cleansing and protection prayers, a tobacco prayer, and an Andean offering.
Join us on Saturday morning, April 26th for a Round Table conversation amongst leaders from indigenous nations from the north and south, as they cross pollinate knowledge ways and share wisdom on Pollination through their traditional cosmology.
